Simple Chicken satay

Satay traditionally is a dish consisting of skewered and grilled meat, served with sauce. This is a simplified version, for those who don’t have a grill.

Serves: 2

Ingredients

  • 2 Chicken breasts

  • 2 onions

  • 1 clove of garlic

  • 9 tbsp. ketchup

  • 9 tbsp. ketjap

  • 6 tbsp. brown sugar

  • 4 tbsp. vinegar

  • 5 tbsp. peanut butter

  • Salt and pepper

  • Vegetables of choice

  • Prawn crackers

  • Rice

Directions

  • Cut chicken breasts in cubes and fry with salt and pepper

  • Remove chicken from pan and sauté onions in the same oil

  • Add vegetables

  • Add half a cup of water together with the minced garlic

  • Add the ketchup, ketjap, vinegar, brown sugar and peanut butter

  • Add chicken and simmer until meat is done

  • Serve with rice and prawn crackers
